You probably know United Way best for our role in supporting a large network of local nonprofit agencies. We have a proud history of providing a convenient way for employees to give back and to help Central Kentuckians in need.

However, the problems facing our communities today demand a more strategic approach to charity and donors are demanding more accountability for their contributions.

Our strategy:

• Pinpoint specific populations at most risk;
• Builds strategies that focus on changing root causes of problems, not just symptoms;
• Brings together organizations, government and foundations to collaborate on solutions so that we maximize, not duplicate efforts; and
• Tracks progress and reports results back to donors and to the community.

We believe that no one organization working alone can achieve as much as we can by working together. Because of our long history in the Bluegrass, we engage civic leaders in problem solving and turn to corporations and foundations for expertise, resources and volunteers.
