Sweet Dream Project

This holiday season, UWBG will be leading a pajama and book drive to support local elementary school students in the Central Kentucky region called the Sweet Dreams Project.  Working with Family Resource Centers, we have learned that many kids do not have their own pajamas or books, and many go home for the holiday break worrying about food insecurity and other things we believe a child should never have on their mind.

But you can help make this holiday season brighter!

Local sponsors and organizations are coming together to help make a happier holiday season for children. Students from 32 elementary schools across our region will benefit from this project, allowing over 1,600 children in need to head home for the holiday break with a gift package. Inside the child will find a new pair of pajamas, a new book to read and other items to enjoy during the break such as snacks and a new toothbrush.

How Can You Help Kids Have Sweet Dreams?

  • Sponsor the Sweet Dreams Project: Companies, businesses or affinity groups can adopt and fully sponsor a school in select communities for an investment of $750. Contact Jenn Goble if you would like to sponsor a school - Jenn.Goble@uwbg.org.
  • Organize a Collection: Host a pajama and book drive at your office, school or church any time between now and December 1, 2017. Your co-workers, members, employees and customers can contribute and drop-off new pajamas, new books and non-perishable, packaged snack items.  For more information on sizes and reading levels, please contact Jenn.Goble@uwbg.org.
  • Contribute Items: If you have items you would like to contribute, simply drop them off at any participating collection center before     December 11.
