POSITION

 

The role of the Community Impact Coordinator is to assist and support the Manager, Community Impact in providing leadership for UWBG in all aspects of its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

 

  • Assists Manager, Community Impact with the maintenance, data collection, and reporting related to UWBG’s VITA Program 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with VITA program partners and other stakeholder groups

  • Prepares reports based on program data and activity

  • Monitors grant and report deadlines and follows up with relevant parties to ensure compliance 

  • Ensures accurate record-keeping related to grantees and grant requirements 

  • Recruits from among stakeholders for volunteer engagement and initiative participation 

  • Develops written program materials and correspondence as needed 

  • Bolsters organization-wide impact strategy through the lens of financial stability programs 

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Minimum of 1-3 years related experience in human service, non-profit, or other related field preferred or sufficient combination of education and experience

  • Familiar with VITA tax preparation strongly desired

  • Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office, and reliable transportation are necessary

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, organizational management, or related field preferred 

  • Strong organizational skills 

  • Strong time-management skills 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 

  • Strong project management skills with timely and consistent attention to follow up 

  • Personal leadership within a team environment multi-tasker, self-motivated and takes initiative, shares credit, and takes responsibility for actions

  • Computer literate: MS Office Suite 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee is regularly required to communicate clearly, in oral and written formats, with others in person, over the phone and via other devices. The employee must be able to transcribe, read extensively, prepare, and analyze data and figures, operate a computer and other standard office machinery. The employee must have the ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to 50lbs.

 

Valid Kentucky driver’s license required as well as access to reliable insured automobile to be used for work-related travel in the Central Kentucky area. Must be willing to occasionally work non-standard work schedule including nights, weekends, and other unusual hours.  

 

BENEFITS

The position is full-time and exempt, with full benefits. The salary is $35,000.
