Half of students entering kindergarten in our region do not meet readiness standards.
2 out of 5 high school graduates are unprepared for college or career.
Education is the cornerstone of individual and community success. It lifts people out of poverty and empowers people to live meaningful lives. But education also ensures a community’s economic prosperity: a well-educated workforce attracts world-class jobs.
From pre-k to high school graduation, United Way is fighting to ensure that the next generation is equipped with the skills to succeed in school and in life. Our work is designed to intervene early to prevent the barriers that cause children to fail and to provide the resources necessary to encourage our youth to remain productive and engaged. We fight to maximize early learning so our children enter kindergarten prepared for school and we are working to make sure more of our youth graduate from high school well-prepared for college and careers.
