Lexington, KY – November 26, 2013 - United Way of the Bluegrass is joining forces with select Walmart stores to “Fill the Truck” with new toys and coats to benefit local children in need this holiday season.
Volunteers will be collecting new toys, coats and Walmart gift cards outside the Richmond Road Walmart and Nicholasville Road Walmart Supercenter on November 30, December 7 and December 14. Customers can conveniently pick up a new toy or coat while shopping, then drop donations in the truck located outside the store. United Way of the Bluegrass and Walmart are proud to partner with Vincent Fister, Inc. to “Fill the Truck” and deliver gifts to children in need this holiday season.
Volunteers will be collecting items on the following dates to benefit a number of local charities:
· Saturday, November 30 – 9am-5pm - to benefit The Nest Center for Women, Children & Families
· Saturday, December 7 -9am-5pm donations to benefit the Catholic Action Center
· Saturday, December 14 - 9am-5pm donations to benefit GreenHouse17 and Chrysalis House
