United Way Teams Up with Community Partners to “Fill the Truck” for Local Kids

Lexington, KY – November 26, 2014 - United Way of the Bluegrass is joining forces with a local Walmart and moving company for the second year to “Fill the Truck” with new toys and coats to benefit local children in need this holiday season.
Volunteers will be collecting new toys, coats and outerwear for the next three Saturdays, beginning on November 29. Customers can conveniently pick up a new toy or coat while shopping, then drop donations in the truck located near the store entrance. Walmart on Richmond Road will have every check-out lane open from noon until 6 PM each Saturday to help minimize lines during the holiday shopping season.

United Way of the Bluegrass is proud to partner with Safeway Moving and Storage to “Fill the Truck” and deliver gifts to children in need this holiday season. Donations collected will benefit local children served through The Nest Center for Women Children and Families.

Volunteers will be collecting items at the Walmart located at 3180 Richmond Road on the following dates:

· Saturday, November 29 – 9 AM to 5 PM
· Saturday, December 6 - 9 AM to 5 PM
· Saturday, December 13 – 9 AM to 5 PM
