In Memory of Fred Kissling Jr. - Loyal Volunteer and Donor

Over the course of 2021, we will feature 100 Heroes who have been instrumental in our fight for the basic needs, education and financial stability of our neighbors for the past century. To learn more about how we are continuing to serve the Bluegrass in 2021, click here.

Today we are remembering Fred R. Kissling.

Fred R. Kissling, Jr. was a longtime advocate of United Way of the Bluegrass. He was a loyal volunteer and donor who gave generously of his time and resources. Mr. Kissling was the UWBG campaign chair in 1976 which was the first time the organization eclipsed $1,000,000 in fundraising. In true Fred fashion, he decided to make a final, long-lasting impact by leaving the largest planned gift in United Way of the Bluegrass history. Due to his unwavering support and selfless lifestyle, we honored him by naming our planned giving society The Kissling Circle.

We are thankful for Mr. Kissling’s service and lasting legacy!
