POSITION

 

A WayPoint Center Coordinator, WayPoint Initiative (WCCWI) assist clients who visit UWBG WayPoint Centers. This position requires adaptability and flexibility to work in any WayPoint Center that currently include but is not limited to the following locations: WayPoint East End (Charles Young/ Palmer Pharmacy Building), WayPoint West-End (Black and Williams Center), WayPoint Centro de San Juan Diego Center, WayPoint Paris (Paris-Bourbon County YMCA). This position will be used to address and provide strategic flexibility to workflow demands between all WayPoint centers based on priority need, data-driven decision-making, client-based needs, and human capital capacity building as determined by the UWBG, Community Impact, Director of Waypoint Initiatives.

 

UWBG WayPoint Centers are sites strategically located throughout our communities to serve and provide a multi-tiered service delivery approach that connect clients to financial education and financial literacy, free income tax counseling and preparation, and other programmatic services that lead individuals and families towards sustainability, stability, and a thriving lifestyle of success.

 

WayPoint Center Coordinator reports directly to the WayPoint Center Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Acts as the primary site coordinator or employee of record responsible for: day-to-day management and operations of the center, the routine implementation and execution of standard operational procedures, ensuring the delivery of excellent customer satisfaction and service, and maintaining a professional and inviting workplace environment that is clean and orderly.

  • Serves as the primary point of contact to address client needs.

  • Collaborates with community partners to provide onsite programs and services within the center.

  • Performs professional assessment (intake) for clients through a multi-tiered service delivery approach that connects them to appropriate service providers and subject matter expertise (SME).

  • Collaborates with the UWBG 2-1-1 (24/7 365) Health & Human Services Referral network of professionals to access partner services and referrals accordingly.

  • Provides public-facing engagement as an UWBG ambassador and community advocate for supporting and transforming the life of others.

  • Understands and recognizes the need for growth and expansion opportunities of UWBG program initiatives and occasionally serves as a UWBG representative in the community.

  • Adapts to the flexibility needed to work between assigned Waypoint centers and community events/site and other Waypoint centers.

  • Serves as the custodian for managing documentation for organizational purposes to include management and reporting for federal and non-federal grants.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Associate degree or equivalency required.

  • Minimum of two years of continuous work experience in an office environment required.

  • Fluent bi-lingual English/Spanish is required.

  • Work in human services, case management, counseling, eligibility determination, social services, non-profit, and oversight is preferred.

  • Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge of current conditions and history of the neighborhoods being served and surrounding nonprofit organizations is highly preferred.

  • Resident of one of the counties being served (past or present) highly preferred.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong customer service skills and enjoy working with the public.

  • Is empathetic and possesses the soft skills required to serve vulnerable populations with dignity and respect.

  • Is flexible and willing to work occasional evenings/nights; Saturday shift sometimes required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc. This position will be primarily based in the WayPoint – East End location. This position will require adaptability and flexibility to work in any WayPoint Center throughout the counties we serve. This includes but is not limited to the following locations: WayPoint East End (Charles Young/ Palmer Pharmacy building), WayPoint West-End (Black and Williams Center), WayPoint Centro de San Juan Diego Center, WayPoint Paris (Paris-Bourbon County YMCA) This position will be used to address and provide strategic flexibility to workflow demands between all WayPoint centers based on priority need, data-driven decision-making, client-based needs, and human capital capacity building as directed by the UWBG, Community Impact, Director of Waypoint Initiatives. Travel reimbursement will be per mileage traveled at the current rate approved in the employee handbook.

EXPECTED WORK HOURS

The employee will be expected to work a 37.5-hour week. Exact hours may vary based on the center the employee is working at that day. Typical working hours will fall Monday through Friday, 8:30AM-5:00PM. Flextime hours and overtime must be pre-approved by your manager. Must be willing to work a non-standard work schedule, including nights, weekends, and other unusual hours as reques
 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee must regularly communicate clearly, in oral and written formats, with others in person, over the phone, and via other devices. The employee must be able to transcribe, read extensively, prepare, and analyze data and figures, and operate a computer and other standard office machinery. The employee must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING REQUIREMENTS

Any candidate offered a position may be required to pass pre-employment screenings as mandated by UWBG. These screenings may include a national background check, language testing, and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review. A writing sample will be required of final candidates.

Starting hourly rate - $18.97-$23.59.
