Young Leaders Society

You are here

United Way of the Bluegrass’s Young Leaders Society

is a social group with a cause. Our mission is to inspire young professionals to improve communities through collaborative action by engaging in philanthropic, volunteer and leadership activities throughout the Bluegrass. UWBG Donors who are between the ages of 21-40 and give $250 or more per year (only $10 per paycheck!) are invited to join YLS.

MAKE AN IMPACT

Strengthen your network with like-minded young leaders at social and volunteer events throughout the year:

Group volunteer projects with UWBG partner agencies
Happy Hours with a mission
Lunch and Learns with top business and community leaders
Special YLS-only networking and professional development events

Opportunities to build your leadership skills through key positions on the YLS board and other UWBG committees.
Access to networking opportunities with other local young professional programs, special United Way events and more!

United Way of the Bluegrass has a BIG BOLD GOAL:
10,000 more families will be self-sufficient by 2020.

To do this, we are focusing on four pillars of success:

YLS will focus impact efforts around Student Success through 2019. Why? Because 2 out of 5 high school grads, right here in the Bluegrass are not ready for life after graduation. All funds and items collected at YLS events will go to support UWBG programs and agency partners working to prepare students for life, college or career.
