Franklin County Supporter Spotlight: Cathy Jennings

As we learn more about Franklin County, today we are excited to feature Cathy Jennings!

Cathy is on the Board of Trustees for United Way of the Bluegrass in Franklin County, formerly United Way of Franklin County, where she represents the Frankfort Plant Board.

Let’s learn more about Cathy in our question and answer session below!

What is your role on the Franklin County Board of Trustees?

We just oversee the operations of the currently UWBG Frankfort office and help with any volunteer opportunities that come up that they need us for.

What made you realize you had a passion for your field of work?

My office holds a United Way campaign every year, so I’ve been involved with United Way for a long time. There was another person in our office that was on the board and was leaving, so I volunteered to fill that position.

What is your favorite part of this position?

I’d say my favorite part is having the ability to see all the positive work that gets done in Frankfort.

What about working in this position inspires you?

I like knowing that the things we’re doing are actually reaching people and helping the less fortunate.

What do you like to do in your free time?

My husband and I like to go hiking.

Fast questions:

What five words would you use to describe yourself?

Creative, positive, independent, happy, wanting to help others.

Are you an early bird or night owl?

I’m usually up pretty early, so I’d say I’m an early bird.

If you could time travel, would you go back in time or to the future?

Probably to the future to see how everything turns out.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

To see the future or be able to tell the future.

Thank you for your work on the Franklin County Board of Trustees, Cathy! We appreciate your hard work.
