Last week, we featured Clark County. This week, let’s get to know Fayette County!
If you didn’t already know, it probably comes as no surprise that Lexington is known as the “Horse Capital of the World” and is home to the Kentucky Horse Park and the Keeneland racecourses. Lexington is also home to numerous museums and historical structures including Ashland, the former estate of statesman Henry Clay. You can take a socially distant tour!
Did you know that 39.5% of Lexington residents have a bachelor’s degree or higher? This means Fayette County has the tenth highest college education rate among U.S. cities! Lexington is a consolidated city-county and is governed by the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, making it a unique structure in the Bluegrass.
